Our acquisitions editors are looking for compelling works from, or relevant to, the Nordic countries, spanning novels, short prose, poetry, and non-fiction. We are also open to English translations of both contemporary and classic works. Our outlook on mixing genres is open-minded and curious.
Send us a concise description of your work, a short author bio, and the full manuscript to submissions(a)kroxetbooks.com. Your subject header should be the title and genre of the submitted work. If you are a literary agent, please include a link to your agency website in the first paragraph of the email. Attach the manuscript as a .pdf or .docx file and include the rest of the information inline in the email.
For non-fiction, a project proposal along with 1–3 sample chapters is adequate. You can follow the same format if you would like to propose translating an existing work (of any genre). Planned translation projects will only be considered if you have already secured the rights to the work.
We only accept submissions by email. Please do not send any materials by post, and do not make inquiries about your submission by phone. Unfortunately, we are not able to respond to all queries; if you don’t hear back from us within two months, we have decided to pass on your submission.
